Super Easy Fall Mason Jars

I love fall! Here in Florida the effect is not quite the same as up north but I still love it. Cooler weather comes and the seasons begin changing. This is the time of year where we start celebrating all the way through December. It is great. Each year I try to add to my collection of fall decor. I do not have a lot just yet but each year it get a little bigger. This year I really wanted to make some things, and use what I already had in my home. These jars were made without spending a single penny. I had all the supplies on hand. It was super easy to do too. Double bonus.

Supplies Needed

  • Glue gun
  • Glue Stick
  • 4 Mason Jars
  • 4 Bottles of paint, in fall colors
  • Paint Brush
  • Burlap – I had an old burlap sack but this is a very popular item right now, so any craft store should have burlap.
  • Fake leaves – I got a whole box at the dollar tree several years ago
  • Letters spelling FALL – I had left over letters from an other project, any craft store should have them

Begin by painting the jars. I choose traditional fall colors and painted one in each color. I painted two coats on each jar. The first coat was too transparent for my taste.

Painted Jars

Once they were dry, I cut strips of burlap and glued one piece on each jar.

Then I picked out eight leaves and glued two on each jar in a small cluster.

The letters I had were the wrong color so I painted mine black and then glued them to the jars.

Fall Letters

And that is it.

I haven’t decided yet what I am putting inside the jar. I might just leave them the way they are now. Or perhaps get a some fall colored flowers. We will see. Tune back in later this week for my pine cone cluster door decor tutorial. Still cleaning up the glitter from that one. : )
